Welcome to the Dixie Family Resource.

Due to the relative rarity of the surname and their preponderance for reusing rare first names, the Dixies provide a useful starting point for research. Unlike many other families with documented medieval ancestry, the paucity of Dixies makes this family much easier to document links to than many others with more common names. The Dixies have royal ancestry through at least four of the early wives in the main Dixie line. The cadet lines (including the Irish & US) are not well researched and whether they share the royal ancestry will depend on when they branch from the main line.

This project is about gathering primary and quality secondary sources for the Dixies and providing a resource for Dixie researchers. I welcome any additions.
